What is SEATGA ACADEMY?
As tourism becomes increasingly “Important to Southeast Asia ‘s Economy and to ASEAN sense of identity, the necessity of having knowledge , expert Tourist Guides becomes crucial to its success. To assist Southeast Asia Tourist Guides achieve the highest professional standards, the SEATGA Academy was established in 2008 during the first Southeast Asia Tourist Guides Congress, West Sumatra- Indonesia. Its primary aim is to advocate on behalf of all members on issues related to the industry. In achieving this SEATGA Academy promotes the training of Tourist Guides, establishment of Industry benchmarks and representation of tourist guides at the highest level.

VISION
To provide a professional, quality Southeast Asia Tourist Guiding Association for the mutual benefit of members, tourist and the tourism industry-enriching the total experiences.

MISSION
To be a dynamic  Southeast Asia Tourist Guiding Association offering members recognition and ongoing opportunities for quality education, employment, professional development and tourism industry forums-in order to improve the quality of ASEAN Tourist Guiding services and increase customer satisfaction.

ACTIVITIES
Promotes and maintains the highest standard of   ASEAN Common Competency Standard for Tourism Professional
  (ACCSTP)
• Arranges familiarizations, educational lectures and workshops for members to facilitate their professional development.
• Promotes adherence to a code of practice, liaises with tourism industry participants and industry associations on matters
  of common concern.
• Through its association with  Southeast Asia Tourist Guide  Association ( SEATGA), represents tourist  guides in developing
  regional competency standards and programs of training.

Informs SEATGA  members of changes and other matters of importance in the tourism industry through distribution of regular
  newsletters and other communications.
