Summary
SEATGA was invited to collaborate with ASEAN-Japan Cente (AJC) to held the inaugural tourist guide exchange program in Japan which mainly covering the UNESCO area such as Himeji Temple, the East Gardens of The Imperial Palace, and Meiji Shrine. Fellows tourist guides which is our members from 10 ASEAN countries have been selected to join this program that led by our Secretary General, Mrs. Erina Loo. The Secretary General of AJC , Mr. Masataka Fujita.
In brief, participants from both sides have had a fruitful session by exchanging their skills and knowledge in a series of discussion and site visits during the program.
Objective (s)
Aimed to uplift the competencies of tourist guides through an active experience exchange session contributing to the sustainability of two way tourism, while strengthening ties with ASEAN-Japan Centre in support of visit ASEAN 50 and MRA of Tourism Professionals.
Conclusion
Participants are positively give a full cooperation and feedbacks during the 5 days program in Tokyo and Hyogo prefecture while doing the indoor and on site skill training session. We believe, the constructive planning should be carry on to bring up the tourist guide profession itself.
